Dear white men: You are worthless

1

Dear white men,

You know that time you thought you earned an A for algebra in the 10th grade? You didn’t earn it. Remember when you got a promotion in the call-centre you endured as you put yourself through university? You didn’t deserve it. Or the blue ribbon you won for coming first in the grade five relay? Keep dreaming.

You see, everything you have ever done, everything you have ever achieved, everything you have ever built or created, has come at the expense of the marginalised. Every dollar you earn, every coffee you savour, every happy moment of peace you eek out of your busy, modern life, is an unreasonable privilege, which by its very nature excludes someone less fortunate than yourself.

Your skills, your possessions, your memories, only exist because someone less privileged was prevented from being able to compete with you for them. By the system. Or something. If they were not prevented by the system, or something, from being able to compete on a level playing field with you, the playing field would be a happy diversity rainbow. Instead, the playing field is a bland white. White is bland. You are not diversity.

In order to level the playing field, we must stack the playing field against you.

And you must remember at all times, that any position you take on the playing field, by its very nature, takes away an opportunity from someone who self-identifies with a marginalised group. By this logic, the most productive thing you can do for society, for equality, for everybody, is to remove yourself from the playing field.

That’s right, white men.

Kill yourself.
