In one of the more bizarre and amusing pieces of news for a while, Iran’s president Hassan Rouhani has tried to reassure ‘skeptical’ Americans that Iranis don’t mean what they say when they chant “death to America.”
Rouhani, who is not the leader of Iran, that responsibility is in the hands of supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said that “[T]his slogan that is chanted is not a slogan against the American people. Our people respect the American people.” Clearly the president of Iran is quite comfortable to live in a land of extreme cognitive dissonance, and asks the rest of the world to join him.
However, it seems that the good Ayatollah who actually has his finger on the button does not agree with the president on this matter, and has recently been as outspoken as ever about his hatred of Israel and America. This has continued since United States President Barrack Obama agreed to lifting sanctions and allowing Iran to continue in pursuing its nuclear program.
The XYZ earlier reported after the striking of the Iran nuclear deal that: “Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated in a televised speech on the weekend that the historic nuclear deal reached last week will not change Iran’s policy towards the United States. Iran’s leader has pledged to maintain the nation’s anti-American policies. ‘Our policy against the arrogant U.S. government will not change'” ( Iran: nuclear deal – still hates America and will support terrorists).
Well, I don’t know about you, but I feel so much more after hearing those comforting word’s from Iran’s president. The victims of Iran’s state sponsored terrorism should also take comfort in the fact that their deaths, maiming and persecution is also “nothing personal.”
It’s the XYZ.
“Iranian Leader Khamenei: Death to America; Obama is trying to turn our people against the regime.”
