Yesterday Republican presidential candidate, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, won the Iowa caucuses. At the time of writing counting indicated that Cruz secured 51,649 votes (27.7%) which equates to a projected delegate count of 8.
Senator Cruz, a supporter of free-trade, critic of anthropogenic global warming claims and devout Southern Baptist who is pro-life, pro-traditional marriage and pro-second amendment, is the first Hispanic to win the Iowa caucuses.
While I had personally hoped to see Donald Trump hit a home run in Iowa, I’m glad voting favoured an anti-establishment target of the Liberal media like Senator Cruz rather than some other contenders in the race.
Congratulations to the Senator and his team on the win in Iowa, and let’s get ready for round two in New Hampshire on February 9th.
