Food for thought – Statesman Salesmanship

There is a truly ripper quote by conservative Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson, which states:

“Everybody lives by selling something.”

Whether you are spruiking a particular product line, selling yourself in an interview or haggling the finer aspects of life’s deals, this truism applies pervasively to the human dimension.

In the sphere of politics there is a fundamental component candidates adhere to in order to succeed in securing office, and it goes hand in hand with what I like to call the mushroom method; that is feed the people crap and keep them in the dark about the agenda being pushed.

Saying more than what is absolutely necessary jeopardises the artful misdirection of rhetoric gymnastics being applied to conjure up a magical mandate for the “top job”.

This is why people are right on the money when they say “all politicians are liars”, hence why I love it when plain talking businessmen level a head-smashing attack against career politicians.

While a Trump victory is looking better by the day, I would be bloody thrilled if in this election year Australia could show the same resolve as America and demand a mandate for a Prime Minister Sam Kekovich.

Absolutely no bulldust, just quality chop shop straight talk.

Food for thought.
