Gay Men “Not Oppressed Enough” Quote of the Day

0

The National Union of Students’ LGBT Campaign—a federation of British student-activists—passed a motion at a recent meeting to end committee representation for gay men; because they aren’t as oppressed as other LGBT people are.

If that isn’t enough, Pink News reported that the LGBT Campaign’s yearly gathering stated that “Misogyny, transphobia, racism and biphobia are often present in LGBT+ societies. This is unfortunately more likely to occur when the society is dominated by white cis gay men.”

Apparently “cis” gay men are “relative enablers, rather than victims of oppression.” As such, the LGBT Union has called for member groups to drop automatic representation by gay men.

While these groups focus on self-parody and implosion rather than suppressing and silencing the speech of anyone whose opinion ever so slightly differs from theirs, I say sit back, grab some popcorn and enjoy the show.
