Immigrants from other nations and cultures display shocking lack of diversity!

Here is a deliberately obfuscative satire from June 15, 2015. It is a good indication of what was at the time the author’s rejection of multiculturalism, but also a growing frustration with civic nationalism. Essentially, it points out the double standard that only Western countries are expected to have diversity..

If we are expected to live in a society which is multi-ethnic and multicultural, why are we being so lenient on the lack of multi-ethnicity and multiculturalism of the people from different ethnicities and cultures coming into Australia?

For example, India consists of a rich tapestry of ethnicities and cultures, both within its borders and in neighbouring countries, bound together by centuries of immigration, culture, history, diversity, invasion, religion and mixture.

But at the end of the day, they’re all Indian, right?

Should not a festival in Australia celebrating Indian culture also be forced to celebrate the ethnicities and cultures of people who have come from other countries to live within India’s borders? What is the point of educating the Australian public about the diversity within India by contrasting a traditional dance from Tamil Nadu with a traditional dance from Jammu and Kashmir, if it does not also celebrate the culture of the community (no matter how small) of African migrants in Goa, or Latin American students in Kolkata?

And by extension, the celebration within the context of the Indian Cultural Festival in Australia of the culture of the African community from Goa, should give equal weight to the descendants of Europeans who settled the uninhabited Cape, the descendants of Arabs who invaded Byzantine Egypt, and the descendants of the Zulu, with equal weight to the different sub-cultures and sub-ethnicities that make up those cultures and ethnicities.

Furthermore, if race and ethnicity have absolutely no bearing on who you are as a person, then for migrants to Australia, it is imperative that we remove the connection between race and ethnicity on the one hand, and culture on the other. We need to have Han Chinese doing African drumming, Mapuche from Patagonia learning the Balinese Gamelan, South Vietnamese refugees who fled the Vietcong learning traditional dances from the Baltic region, and Druze from Lebanon conducting Cooree Welcome To Country ceremonies.

In conclusion, migrants should be encouraged to abandon the ethnic and cultural identity of the society from which they came, and be more open and tolerant to adopting the different combinations and permutations of ethnicities and cultures of everybody else coming to this country. Otherwise, they may take on the ethnic and cultural chauvinism exhibited by some people of no particular culture or ethnicity here in Australia.

Multiculturalism is a very useful idea, but it is not always enforceable. In essence, I believe that everything depends on the people themselves. We have an example of Mexicans who come to America, live there all life and do not know a word of English, nor ever put an effort to learn it. Or, for example, the Arabs who go to Germany and take their heritage with them, particularly religious. Well, when people see that like religious fanaticism, they are rightly calling for religious intolerance. Modern society, if it continues this way, will be defeated with his own weapons

Konstantin, that is a frighteningly likely possibility….

This is exactly what I’ve meant, I’m glad we understand each other. If you give all the capabilities and achievements of modern democracy to everyone, even those who do not want to be part of it, they will very smartly use it in order to retain their way of life. Way that they believe is the only correct. Obvious examples are mosques in Europe from which are recruited Wahhabis under the form of religious rights and freedoms.

The current left wing ruling elite of Australia and else where in the west may think multi culture and everybody is equal type narrative is correct, but have they ever considered that other cultures might not think so!

When the most tolerant nation on the planet – The Netherlands / Holland – decide that Multiculturalism is a failed exercise, then you can rest assured that the entire idea is a bad joke and should be relegated to the dustbin of history.
