Jordan Peterson as approved opposition

For readers unfamiliar with the Australian television landscape, Q&A is a live panel discussion program on the government broadcaster ABC. It is so notoriously weighted to the left side of politics, as is the entire ABC for that matter, that it is somewhat of a running joke. Q&A is the most leftist progressive show on a network which is leftist and progressive from top to bottom.

The format of the show goes something like this:

  1. Invite 4 progressive guests.
  2. Invite one guest nominally from the right but who is very much approved opposition.
  3. The audience when lining up to get in are anonymously asked who they normally vote for in an election. This is then displayed at some point on the screen with no sense of irony whatsoever. I mean, if you have the entire audience screaming blood at the very mild approved opposition guest but supposedly 40% of them voted for the conservative party, then you have an audience with a very serious case of collective Tourettes.

And next Monday one of the guests on the show is our old pal, Jordan Peterson.

Q&A, we have a problem.

The ABC’s main panel show doesn’t like to think of itself as biased, but look at what happened when Jordan Peterson was announced as a guest.

The news went off, online, like it’s going to be a showdown.

Why should that be?

If Q&A isn’t biased, then he’s just another guest, isn’t he? Therefore, it should be no big deal to have him on.

And yet, for many people, on Facebook, Twitter, on this paper’s website, it’s like a miracle, and they’ll be tuning in for the first time in years.

I don’t know what’s sadder; the fact that Peterson is so obviously approved opposition or the fact that so many people on the right just cannot see it. But he is their new Messiah and they will celebrate him. Look, you don’t get an invite to this show without being part of the show. As soon as I heard that they had invited Peterson I thought that this would finally signal for so many people on the right what people like myself and Vox Day have been saying for a while now.

I mean, for God’s sake, Peterson himself has declared on multiple occasions both that he is not on the right and that he is on the left and yet the most liked comment on that article, and there are hundreds, is the following:

Q&A has confirmed three other panelists. Quoted from the website,

Terri Butler, Queensland Labor MP
Catherine McGregor, Freelance writer, broadcaster and author –
Van Badham, Writer and commentator

That’s a far Left Labor figure, a trans person, and an extreme Left feminist. It’s still a mismatch in favour of Peterson but the show is notorious for nobbling its conservative guests.

I mean, forget about Peterson, this guys stills believes that the nominal right side of politics guests on the show are actual conservatives. Look people, except for Senator Fraser Anning the entire Australian parliament are progressives.

Peterson being invited onto Q&A should be a wake up call as to his true nature for those on the right. Except it’s not. Unfortunately that says much more about the right then it does about Peterson.

I was listening to the Unshackled of the experience of those young guys who ended up being banned for life from the National Party. It became very clear to my mind that the National Party is in essence a re-badged Labor Party given their attitude to gender relationships etc. I suspect the same is the case for the Liberal party.

Do not vote for any of the majors unless you want to maintain the status quo.

    • Minging

If you think the Socialist Labor of today is anywhere near the NP or LNP on the many dire issues… you’ve rocks in your head. Use your preferences ignorantly (when voting for minors) and face handing over Australia to the Socialist Labor/Greens/Unions/GetUp alliance… a term of which Australia might never recover from in this day and age. PHON gifting not only the important seat of Longman, but the entire damn state of QLD to Socialist Labor, out of spite and uneducated voters… being a case in point.

      • George Tasker

In that case vote for the overt socialist and push the whole damn country off the cliff.

        • Minging

Nah thanks pal… I’ll keep the Libs in power, whilst voting my Australian Conservative members into the senate to keep them in check. The Socialist Labor/Greens/Unions/GetUp alliance will ALWAYS be put last!

While a bit of a wet rag at times, Rowan Dean has been on qanda. While he might be to the left of Anning, he is only just to the left.

Pulling the overton window is like stretching a rubber band. Pull it to hard and it will snap.

    • Mattys Modern Life

Breaking the Overton Window at this point would not be a bad thing.

      • Stiffbastard

Its not so good if you are a small shard of glass.

  • The Unburdened

We have to remember that even among the Right, few have come as far as us in terms of seeing the reality of the world we live in. Peterson certainly has his flaws, but those flaws make him an effective gateway to White racial awareness – those listening to him now will eventually realise that his whole milquetoast Leftie-libertarian shtick is becoming increasingly irrelevant and inadequate as events continue to unfold.

    • Stiffbastard

At least he’s having a go. His attempts at shifting the paradigm in a better direction can only be commended, especially considering that he is a “one man machine” and not a front for a cabal of lefties.

    • Mattys Modern Life

This is my assessment, for all his flaws the advice he gives for individuals is sound:

      – Take responsibility for yourself and your family first and focus your time and energy of fixing any issues here with brutal honesty.
      – Set the highest possible goal you can in life and work towards it every single day.
      – Always tell the truth.

Aside from the fact that Peterson lies to himself on issues of racial identity this is sound advice.

Take the gems where you can and throw out the dirt, if people are dedicated to telling the truth at all time it’s essentially a countdown to racial consciousness because race-realism is reality.

      • entropy

The reality of race is that it’s a strong predictor of culture, which is causally linked to behavior. Drawing an equivalence between race and behavior is an identitarian argument which is what Adam does when he criticises JP for not conforming to his own ideology.

We allied with Stalin not long after he signed a non-aggression pact with Hitler. Let’s focus on issues and leave identitarianism to the SJWs.

  • entropy

I think you’e the only one who’s confused about Peterson’s true nature, Adam.

You’re the one crying into your cornflakes because he’s not some conservative messiah. Noone else ever thought he was.

  • Mattys Modern Life

Let’s say he is controlled opposition and I think there’s good evidence to suggest this now, Molyneux continues to get more and more based in his assessment of the world.

    I’ll take that.

As for that article, I also had a good laugh at it given the sentiment is actually correct; the fact that JBP is considered a “challenger” of sorts does prove that Q and A is biased to the far-Left.

It’s just that they are so biased that even someone on their own side is their “enemy” in a way.

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

    • Minging

Molyneux doesn’t have a 1/10th of the following, more to the point from many sides of the political spectrum, as Petersen has. I subscribed to his sites long before I even knew who Petersen was… and quite frankly have always found him far too kooky, with his almost evangelical station, despite agreeing with much of his views… and the best part of almost decade later I continue to find him, Molyneux, less relevant.

  • Minging

Oh for FFS what’s all the song and dance about him not being on the right, that makes many of his common-sense critiques in these dire times of PC suddenly any less valid! Who gives a shit what side of politics he sits on as long he keeps the discourse going and showing up the indoctrinated, particularly on world-wide campus’ where education and critical thought has almost become terminal.

    • Stiffbastard

What we are seeing here is almost the opposite of the far left virtue signalling minority statuses. While not as extreme as Elizabeth Warren and her 1/1024th Indian heritage claim, the push here is more about moving the overton window to the right. This push isn’t a bad thing, however, as I’ve pointed out a few times, push to hard and when the rubber band snaps you’d better hope that you’re in the large shard of glass.

  • I thought his book came out ages ago.

All three witches deserve the usual treatment witches got when we still had a society.

  • Taylor King

Fucking whingey little bitch jesus christ

  • David

But Peterson is on record as also saying he is not left. Many people don’t understand that the middle – that is the sensible section of society where JP aligns himself exists. They recognize the strengths and weaknesses of both right and left and understand its a successful marriage of both together that forms a wholistic and sustainable model. This is what JP supports.

He thinks right vs left …. Is fucking idiotic and creates extremism which is specifically what he is against.

  • Orbiter007

Sad but true. Peterson openly states that he is thankful that he’s directing the passion of the right wing further towards centrist platitudes.

Jordan Peterson Dismantled, in a 30 minute video by Resurrection Europa

“A documentary exposing Jordan Peterson’s agenda to subvert and destroy the rising political right wing, and neutralize European nationalism.

This video completely exposes Peterson’s anti-White agenda and his strategy for implementing it. Any Peterson fans who are not beyond saving will be deprogrammed by watching this video.

Jordan Peterson’s primary goal is to neutralize the political right and White identity. He does not care about the Marxist take over of our nations, in fact he was hired by the United Nations to help usher it along. Peterson’s only reason for stepping into the limelight was because he saw a massive

right wing backlash fomenting, and realized it was going to destroy the left.

His job is to implement “plan B”, to steer the rising tide of nationalism into an impotent cul-de-sac of centrist individualism, giving our enemies just enough time to tip the demographic balance of our countries so that our destruction is sealed.”

Interesting interview on the ABC news this morning.
They normally get in some land whale from the local Uni to blab on with some crap, but, in this instance, was some bloke who was clearly indicating that the ABC has a problem with the perception that people have of it – and that is severely left leaning.
This came about after the announcement that Ita Buttrose is going to become the new CEO.
The discussion seemed to go on about how IB is going to help the ABC come back towards the centre of politics but I am still inclined to not believe this and will stay with the belief that the ABC needs to be defunded and everyone there that considers themselves to be a journalist, needs to apply for a real job somewhere in the real world.

  • Evelyn Treptow

I believe that Peterson is approved opposition because he talks in such convoluted language that he is almost impossible to understand, plus he is a leftie,by his own admission.

  • Stiffbastard

Yes. My view has shifted. He is indeed approved opposition.
