Quote of the Day: Census Fail, Because Government

12

imageThis evening, someone asked me what was on for tonight. I told them I was looking forward to completing my census form online. They asked me words to the effect of “Why the hell would you want to do that?” I replied, “Because I am a nerd.”

Sadly, government let me down. As somebody said somewhere on the internet, “24 million people, one website, what could possibly go wrong?” Not only is the census website down, the hotline set up to help people complete the census is asking people to call back in a day or so. At least we won’t get fined.

If ever you wanted an example of why taxation is theft, this is it. Admittedly, the focus on online completion of the census was supposed to save money, but in government, policies often lead to outcomes completely the opposite of what was intended. Perhaps this is a job for Australia’s sole remaining bureaucrat..

We’ll leave the last word to the XYZ’s Keating:

“Screw the census: According to the left, we are all Muslims. Transgender-self-hating-green-voting-anti-white-hipster-racist Muslims, and we love the Government and the NBN.”

His interest in history was piqued by playing a flight simulator computer game about the Battle of Britain, and he hopes to one day siphon the earnings from his political writings into funding the greatest prog-rock concept album the world has ever seen.

Went online just after 5pm, filled it all in, submitted the form, got a receipt number and bingo, done. I figured that the site would become overloaded if I left it later in the evening, and let’s face it, the facts don’t change no matter what time one fills it in, and I didn’t want to have to remember to go to the Post Office specifically to post the damn thing. I have no problems with the census, I don’t scream and carry on because the government has my name and details…I am not paranoid and don’t focus on a vast government conspiracy to obtain information from me that, on some future date, will be used against me. I did, however, do something I have not done before. I left the Catholic Church 50 years ago, but I checked the box marked Catholic because I want the Powers That Be to recognise that we still are, at least temporarily, a Christian country founded on Christian principles and not a Muslim one. Naïve I suppose, but hey, just my little, insignificant contribution.

    From Larry Hannigan:

“To – Australian Bureau of Statistics
    ABN 26331428522
    @ABS HOUSE
    45 BENJAMIN WAY
    BELCONNEN ACT 2617

    YOU – ABS …A TRADING COMPANY…SELLING OUR INFO…
FOR A CORPORATION POSING AS GOVERNMENT?

I AM NOT A SHAREHOLDER AND I DON’T BELONG TO THIS PRIVATE FOREIGN TRADING COMPANY OF A CORPORATION CALLED THE COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA registered in the US AND I WILL NOT BE INVOLVED IN A TREASONOUS ACT AND I WILL NOT COMMIT MISPRISON OF TREASON.

Sect 24 AA of the Crimes Act 1914
    http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/cth/consol_act/ca191482/s24aa.html

levy war against the people of the Commonwealth of Australia and sabotaging the Constitution.

There is NO STATUTE, CODE, ACT OR LEGISLATION on earth that can override CONTRACT LAW. The Rules of Equity prevail in every state’s Supreme Court Act .

To compel anyone’s participation in the census, full disclosure and CONSENT is first required!

One of the six essential components of CONTRACT LAW IS CONSENT.

I DO NOT CONSENT I DO NOT ACCEPT YOUR OFFER TO CONTRACT NO CONSENT = NO CONTRACT

Case law on that principle If you are a man or woman then your rights remain INTACT.”

Not filling in the Census would set you up for fines of $180 per day. That’s legislation beyond power. Justice Latham of the High Court has something to say about that (my insert):

“Common expressions such as: ‘The Courts have declared a statute invalid,” says Chief Justice Latham, “sometimes lead to misunderstanding. A pretend law made in excess of power is not and never has been a law at all. Anybody in the country is entitled to disregard it. Naturally, he will feel safer if he has a decision of a court in his favour, but such a decision is not an element that produces invalidity in any law. The law is not valid until a court pronounces against it – and thereafter invalid. If it is beyond power it is void ab initio” HCA 1942 (65 CLR 373 at 408).”

    Further:

High Court of Australia. Decision-Re Wakim

Justice Kirby stated: “A legislature cannot, by preambular assertions, recite itself into Constitutional power where none exists.”

What about the threat of $180-per-day fines looming for those who fail to complete the Census??
“While ideally the form is filled in on or as close to August 9 as possible, people have until September 23 to do it.”
How about that. The joke was on us. 😀

How would they know you didn’t fill it in? It was addressed “To the householder”. Is that your name? Do you accept and pay bills in that name too?

If anyone dares bang on your door without warrant and demands to know if you filled in the Census, simply tell them to leave because they’re trespassing, they have no authority to demand, let alone ask and expect answers to anything. But I doubt that’ll happen, because at least a million won’t fill it in either. Many can get lost in the mail and, as we know, the online version is fecked.

Can they PROVE you didn’t fill it in? No.

Lucky the government only screwed up on the Census!! Think what it would be like if they had to order new submarines, how much would the cost of that blow out to?!!

    typical government incompetence…complete idiots

    • Olaf Koenders

Demand a $180 cheque to fill it in for them. There’s no such thing as legal or lawful slavery in this country. No cheque, no work. Payment in advance thanks, Mr. Grabbermint.

So the story goes now that it was some low level kiddie script hackers who ddos’d the census website.
This is even more scary !
What sort of secure websites do the Government run, if amateur hackers can do this sort of attack ?
Some kids brought the site to its knees for 2 days !
    It just is unbelievable.
What are they smoking in Canberra ? Sack them, sack them all !
