Thought for the Day: Lockdown means I don’t have to see black people

Throughout the lockdown I have struggled with the fact that I recognise the creeping totalitarianism of the lockdown which is being rolled out globally, yet I have loved being forced to stay home where my piano and fun things are.

We’re in the calm before the storm. World War III will soon be upon us, and Melbourne will be one of the front lines. Hence why I am determined to enjoy the simple pleasures in life.

It occurred to me today that because I am not venturing out into multicultural shithole Melbourne as much as I used to, I almost do not have to even think about non-white people.

I deliberately moved to a whitish area, I deal with mostly whites, my family are Anglo. Sometimes I’ll see an Asian. That’s it.

Some may say this is like a journey back in time to a simpler age. I like to think of it as a glimpse into the future.

Thought for the Day.

David has studied history and political science at Melbourne University. His thesis was written on how the utilisation of Missile Defence can help to achieve nuclear disarmament. His interest in history was piqued by playing a flight simulator computer game about the Battle of Britain, and he hopes to one day siphon the earnings from his political writings into funding the greatest prog-rock concept album the world has ever seen.
