Waleed Aly Spotted at Guns N’ Roses Concert

The XYZ can report that a man who may or may not have been Everybody’s Favourite Muslim Apologist, Waleed Aly (TM) was spotted at the MCG at Tuesday night’s Guns N’ Roses concert. This XYZ editor endured a brief exchange with Dame Edna’s favourite punching bag to bring you the following conversation, which may or may not have happened:

XYZ: Hi Wally, what is your favourite Gunners song?

Wally: I’d have to say it’s I Remember You. I can’t believe they didn’t play it tonight. Maybe they’ll do it at the Adelaide show. Adelaide is very cultured, after all. Not that I have my nose in the air, mate. I identify as a bit of a bogan, myself. One time I held Carrie’s bundy & coke while she went to the loo. But then she spent, like, forty minutes talking to this guy, who got her another drink, so I was just holding this bundy & coke for forty minutes. Fair suck of the sauce bottle mate, fair suck of the sauce bottle. And then when she got back, she didn’t want it.

XYZ: Okay. What did you think of Axl Rose starting up the “Aussie Aussie Aussie” chant at the end?

Wally: It was a very stupid thing to do, which doesn’t help his cause, and I condemn it totally.

XYZ: How did you feel about the fact that roughly 95% of the crowd were white?

Wally: It made me feel very uncomfortable. I think this may be my last time here.

Backstage, The XYZ shared a few moments with someone who may or may not have been one of the last truly great musicians over 40 still alive:

XYZ: Axl, what do you think of Waleed Aly?

Axl: Tell that ——- —- of a —- to stay the —- away from our ——- civilisation.

It’s your XYZ.
